Carlmont High School Theater
Belmont, CA
The use of varied colored load bearing precision concrete masonry units and glass at the main entrance of the new Performing Arts Theater of Carlmont High School, in Belmont California, creates a dynamic exterior screen that emphasizes its three dimensional design and quality of masonry work. The combination of these two materials on this project work in concert to create a structure that performs well visually, acoustically, environmentally, educationally and financially.
This new masonry facility will be the center of a larger project for the arts and is a statement on how attractive masonry can be as the predominant and durable material when skillfully contrasted with other materials.
