Sacred Heart Parish School

Sacred Heart Parish School

Sacramento, CA

A new campus of the 75 year old Sacred Heart Parish School was needed when the Mercy Hospital needed to expand using the school property. Choosing of durable brick veneer for the new facility was a logical choice for facilities over the next 75 years and beyond. Flashed brick and a mixture of straight and curved walls adorned with terra cotta create an unique appearance that blends with the East Sacramento neighborhood. Using brick was merely an extension of the parish theme, which utilizes brick on other buildings of the church community. Soldier courses above windows and at the top of walls complements the quarter running bond pattern in wall. Vertical expansion joints between alternate windows will allow for natural brick movement and performance for many years. Again, brick will retain timeless beauty and durability and provide low maintenance for the life of the complex.
