Lathrop High School

Lathrop High School

Lathrop, CA

Brick veneer finishes the wood frame backing for the new Lathrop High School. A blend of flashed brick with red mortar provides variation giving the facility a unique character. Full size anchored brick are attached with commercial Fleming anchor system. Brick is used where the walls will be subject to the youth environment, with plaster finishes above the brick. Brick veneer is the finish on buildings which include 6 single story classroom buildings, two gymnasiums, a performing arts center and the adminstration building. Cost for the design was so attractive, about one-third below the 2006 state average for permanent educational buildings, that the Lathrop design has been adopted for two other facilities in nearby school districts.
