Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences

Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences

Incline Village, NV

The Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences would typically be a wood frame and wood clad building for the area, however, the designer elected to include masonry as part of the building.

The first floor contains 4" x 8" x 16" concrete masonry veneer units with three colors placed in a random pattern. The colors are within the same range, however, the random effect provides character for the facility. In addition, there is precast trim at the window sills and at tops of the masonry column supports.

The use of masonry will provide durability, particularly during the snowy winter months resisting the moisture for years.
