The complex design of brick elements accented by terra cotta at the Sheraton Grand and Market Place yields and architectural statement with immense integrity which proved to be an interesting challenge to the mason contractor. The renovation of this building, located in downtown Sacramento, is a testimony of the masonry contractor’s ability to match the craftsmanship of past generations.
The restoration/replacement consisted of matching the existing brick, old mortar colors, textures and terra cotta patching. There was 17000 square feet of new masonry and 8,000 square feet of restoration.
