Fremont’s Fire Station #8 used split face CMU on the site walls and cultured stone veneer on the main facade to give architectural elements that are coordinated to provide the scale and stature of a true civic building.
The facility’s architectural style compliments the existing site, which is surrounded by a residential area and a shopping center. Masonry’s inherent ability to weather and age gracefully was a primary consideration for a long lasting civic presence in a growing community.
Use of the concrete masonry units and stone veneer offer structural integrity, architectural expression, durability, and functionality to this building that will serve the City of Fremont for many years to come.
